Description	:	Beulah, N.D. GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY Book, Page 114 — Matheus and his wife Christina came to America from Krem, South Russia in 1893. They were accompanied by son Jacob and his wife Rosina, and their sons Mathias, Philip and John. They traveled to Freeman, S.D., by covered wagon, arriving in October of 1893. That December, son Jacob Jr. was born. They start north in a covered wagon with their children, 2 horses, a cow and chickens. At Cannonball, they stopped for 3 days, where a horse had a colt. There were more people here, so he went home, dug up the potatoes and moved east to Expansion. There, four more children were born: Katharina, Frieda, Paulina and Minnie. ============================== Matheus BENZ Jr. born 13 February 1831 in Heilbrunn, Feodosia, Crimea, South Russia was the son of Mathaus BENZ (1789-1842) and Dorothea Wilhelmina TRUCKSESS (1790-1860). Matheus married Christina KAISER probably in 1849 in Zuerichtal, Feodosia, Crimea, South Russia. This union was blessed with no less than 8 children; Katharina Dorothea, Christian, Christina, Friederike, Jacob, Christian, Johannes and Jakobina.
