Description	:	Mathew M. Brown, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2014. Mathew was born June 13, 1928, to Matthew and Hazel Walter Brown in Belfry, Montana. Later, the family farm in Bridger became his home for over 50 years. He graduated from Bridger High School in 1946. He married Eldora Walter in Billings in 1953. To that union, four children were born. His family was always his first priority. Brown, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2014. Mathew was born June 13, 1928, to Matthew and Hazel Walter Brown in Belfry, Montana. Later, the family farm in Bridger became his home for over 50 years. He graduated from Bridger High School in 1946. He married Eldora Walter in Billings in 1953. To that union, four children were born. His family was always his first priority. Whatever his children and grandchildren were doing, he was in the front row encouraging them. Matt worked as a farmer, a rancher and in the insurance business. He was active in the community and civic organizations. Matt was involved and dedicated to his church. He was a member of the Bridger United Methodist Church and later Shiloh Methodist Church and Gideon's International for over 40 years. After retirement, Matt and Eldora moved to Billings where he continued to be an active member of Shiloh Church, enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends, golfing, and his work with the Gideon's. His children and grandchildren, who lived in four different states were a source of great joy. He loved being a part of their lives and attended as many of their activities as he could. Matt is survived by his wife, Eldora; daughters, Sherry (Mark) Langstaff, Rapid City, S.D., Terry (Buzz) Anderson, Billings, Kerry (Tom) Johnson, Garfield, Wash.; son, Mark (Diane) Brown, Tomball, Texas; grandchildren, Shane and Shawn Langstaff, Ryan and Aaron Anderson, Matthew, Michelle, Miranda and Michael Brown, Erik Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren, Hadli, Gracee, Marcela, Ava, Ella and Wil Langstaff, and Sonia Anderson. He is also survived by his brothers, Edwin (Sue), William (Helen) and Verne Brown; sister, Beulah (Leo) Peterson; extended family, Norma Brester, Barbara (Jim) Eckerman, Leroy (Norma) Walter; and many nieces and nephews who always held a special place in his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Hazel Brown; nephew, Lee Peterson; in-laws, George and Marie Walter, Gordon Walter, Donald Brester and Edna Brown. We would like to thank our family, friends, neighbors and church family for the many acts of kindness shown through these years. We are grateful for the gift of his life and for all that he shared with us. He will be missed more than words can express. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bridger or Shiloh Methodist Church, Gideon's International in Billings, or the charity of choice. Services will be held Saturday, July 12, 10 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Billings . Interment will follow at Mountview Cemetery
