Born in Golz, Burgenland, Hungary, July 27, 1873 he came to this country eight years later with his parents, Mathias Hackstock Sr. and Rosina Schwartz, the name of his mother. Read More	Mathias Hackstock, son of one of the old pioneers of the Kramer vicinity, passed away last Friday in the Lincoln General Hospital at Lincoln at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 3 days. Born in Golz, Burgenland, Hungary, July 27, 1873 he came to this country eight years later with his parents, Mathias Hackstock Sr. and Rosina Schwartz, the name of his mother. A farm, known today as the Hackstock farm, was bought at that time. On this farm the deceased lived all his years here in America. On February 20, 1898 Mr. Hackstock was united in marriage with Mary Mundt. This marriage was blessed with five children. All survive him, namely, Ben and Amanda, still living at home, Mrs. Alvina Reiss and Mrs. Louise Heitman, living near Kramer, and Mrs. Frank Schlichtemeier of Burwell. Besides his widow and and five children, five grandchildren, three sons-in-law, one sister, Mrs. M. Allacher of Kramer, and many other relatives and friends mourn his loss. Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon from the Kramer Lutheran Church. Rev. Albert H. Cholcher, the family pastor, officiated. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery near Kramer. Mr. Hackstock had been a faithful member of the Lutheran church all his life. He was baptized in the Christian faith the day after his birth by Rev. Schuch, Lutheran pastor of a large congregation in Hungary, of which many came to this vicinity and formed an important part in the Kramer Lutheran church. After his arrival in America, the deceased attended the Christian day school at Kramer, and after a thorough instruction in the doctrines of the Christian religion, was confirmed on April 18, 1886 in the Kramer Church by the Rev. L. Huber. There also his marriage ceremony was performed by another of his pastors, Rev. Lohr. In this church all of his children were instructed and confirmed and like he and his wife, have been faithful unto their Christian vow. With Christian patience and fortitude, he entered into a peaceful, painless, but blessed death, confessing the faith that was his during all his life. The funeral was largely attended in spite of the threatening weather. The audience more than filled every available space of the Kramer Lutheran Church. Renken of Gilead; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Moser and Mrs. Wm. Rempter of Hickman; Walter Meinke of Denton; Mr. and Mrs. Wm Ress, Mrs. Wm. Bathel, Mrs. Lou. Sheffert, John Bathel, Adolph Waite, Mrs. Pete Lich and daughter Mrs. Victor Ruwe, Harold Fraas and Marguerite and Elsie Wohl, all of Lincoln; Rev. and Mrs. Victor Allacher of St. Edward; Julius Allacher of Seward; Mrs. Werner Jarms and Miss Esther Jarms of Emerald.
