Description	:	Matt Sindelar, 83, retired farmer, who died here at his home in Spillville on Monday afternoon, after several months of illness, were held at St. Wenceslaus Catholic church on Thursday morning at 9:30 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pecka. Rev. Jos. Budura, D. D., celebrated the requiem mass. Burial was in St Wenceslaus cemetery. Mr. Sindelar, son of Frank and Petronella Sindelar, was born in Czechoslovakia on Feb. 5, 1863, and when three and one half years old came to the United States with his parents. In 1883 he was married to Rose Silhacek, who died 7 years ago. In 1941 he was married to Mrs. Mary Klema, who survives. Other survivors are eight children of his first marriage, four daughters, Mrs. Mary Stika, Potivin{sp}, and Mrs. Philip (Celia) Hayek, Mrs. Frank (Rose) Pecka and Mrs. Jos. (Barbara) Vitousek, of Spillville, and four sons, Frank Sindelar, Protivin; Chas and Mike Sindelar, Spillville and Jos. Sindelar, Lawler, one brother, James J. Sindelar, Spillville. Besides his wife he was preceded by two sons, one who died in infancy and John Sindelar, who passed away several years ago. He also leaves 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Mr. SIndealr{sp} was a faithful member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic church. He received the last rites of his religion from the Rev. Budura. He will be greatly missed by his wife and children.
