Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur (Mathilda) Schuelke, 82, Groton, were held Friday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russell Peterson officiated. Burial was in the Groton Union Cemetery. Mrs. Schuelke died Wednesday, May 23, at Colonial Manor in Groton. The congregation sang "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less," "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "For All the Saints," accompanied by Mrs. Eugene Neuman, organist. Schuelke at West Hanson Township Sept. 24, 1914. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, Nursery Circle, the Putney Ladies' Aid and various other organizations. She was an active member of the Groton Gray Ladies for many years, was Emminent Homemaker for extension services and was Groton's candidate for Mother of the Year and named a Merit Mother several years ago. She was a lifetime resident of the Groton area. Survivors include three sons, Lyle of Huron, Robert of Groton and Allen of Stockton, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Daryl (Ardis) Danielson, West Fargo, N.D.; one brother, John Erdmann, California; 20 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one son, two brothers and three grandchildren. The Paetznick - Garness Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
