Description	:	A 31-year-old Ireton woman, mother of three small children, died Monday afternoon of burns suffered in a gas furnace explosion. Mathilda Bonnema was burned over 90 per cent of her body when the furnace she was lighting exploded, apparently from an accumulation of gas, and ignited her clothing. Mathilda Bonnema was burned over 90 per cent of her body when the furnace she was lighting exploded, apparently from an accumulation of gas, and ignited her clothing. The explosion occurred at the Bonnema farm northwest of Ireton, at about 7 a.m. Monday. M Bonnema's husband, Elmer, heard her scream and put out as much of the fire as possible. He took their three daughters to the car when they became frightened by the smoke and screams. M Bonnema was taken to the Sioux Center hospital, where she died later that day. A fire also broke out in another part of the house, and the telephone operator was notified. The fire burned out the basement of the home and badly damaged the house. M Bonnema was lighting the furnace with firewood, cobs and a kerosene-soaked cob when the explosion occurred. Survivors include the widower; three daughters, Mary, 7, Lavonne, 5, and Barbara, nearly 2; and the parents, MM Bastian Mulder of Orange City. Six brothers and three sisters also survive. They are Dick, Henry and Carl, all of Orange City; John of Eagle Grove; Melvin of Iowa City; Marinus of California; M Ervin Lassen of Remsen; M Edward Roghair. of Sioux Center; and M George Jasper of California. M Roghair was a twin sister to M Bonnema. M Bonnema was taken to the Vander Ploeg home in Sioux Center. Funeral services for M Bonnema will be held today (Thursday) at 12:45 p.m. at the Melvin Bonnema home, five miles west ind 3 3/4 miles north of the Ireton corner; and at 1:30 p.m. at the Lebanon church.
