She attained the age of 95 years, four months and 27 days. Matie Martha "Sis" Ulberg was born in Lennox, SD, on Jul. 25, 1901, the daughter of William and Hannah (Dede) Fehlhafer. She attended public school and grew up in Lennox. On Sep. 25, 1919, she was united in marriage to Melvin Ulberg in Vienna, SD. They lived on the Ulberg home farm northeast of Lennox their entire married life. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1979, ending a marriage partnership of nearly 60 years. She continued to live on the farm until 1989, when she moved into Lennox. She became a resident of Hilda's Heritage Home in Lennox on Jan. 29, 1995, and entered the Lennox Good Samaritan Center two weeks ago, on Dec. 6. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother on Aug. 25, 1954, and by her father on Jan. 5, 1962. She was the last surviving member of her family.
