Description	:	Matilda Ann Deaver was born at Ellwood, Ill., May 1, 1857. In the fall of 1877 she was united in marriage to Elmer Curtis, to this, union were born two children, Mrs. Bert Collins of Anabel, Mo., and Mattie who died at the age of 13. In 1893 she was married to Numa Mattix, who died in 1895. Several years ago she was converted and united with the U.B. church at Coal Creek. In January she was compelled to undergo an operation for tumor. Last Thursday she returned to Abbott hospital in Oskaloosa, but having grown so weak in vitality she passed... She leaves to mourn her loss an aged mother, four brothers, two sisters, one daughter, besides a host of friends. A brief service was held by Rev. W.J. Hamilton at the J.L. Sullivan home on Monday morning. A funeral discourse was preached by Rev. R.S. Tague of Bussey at the Coal Creek church. The remain were interred in the cemetery near the church.
