Jordon Matilda Florence Harper was born near Cherokee, Kansas, the 15th day of Feb., 1899. She died Mar. 1, 1922, at the Mt. Carmel hospital at Pittsburg, Kan. She was, therefore, 23 years of age. Matilda was the daughter of Mary Viola and Waldo Hugh Harper. She lost her beloved mother when only 7 months of age. She gave her life to Christ when a child and lived a consistent Christian life. In 1919 she was attending Springfield Business College. On Feb. 15 of that year she was married to L.W. Jordon of Milwaukee, Wisc. Two children were born to them, Mary Emma, age 2 yrs. and Lloyd Waldo, 9 months of age. Besides her husband and two children, Mrs. Jordon is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Harper, two brothers, Hugh Harper of Bower Mills, Mo., Dixie Harper of Globe, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. W.E. Slusher and Mrs. P.W. Peck of Cherokee, Kan. Matilda possessed a lovable and sacrificing spirit and by her kindness made a friend of all with whom she met, while the twilight hour of her sweet life leaves shadows on the brow of those who love her.
