Jan., 31, 1914, Pg.1 Col. 5 & 6 Funeral Service For Mrs. Krabiel Death of Well Known Woman Occurs Last Sunday At Home Near Aurora The fourth death to occur within the circle of the Krabiel families in a comparative short time was that of Mrs. D. J. Krabiel, when she passed away at the home near Aurora last Sunday following an illness that had extended over many years. Mrs. Krabiel had been in ill health over a long period of time and during recent years had been an almost helpless invalid, her aliments having been intensified by a stroke suffered some time ago. She was nearing her 66th. birthday. The body rested at the Chapman-Higby chapel in Aurora until the time of the funeral services Wednesday afternoon. Services were conducted from the United Brethren church at two o'clock, with Rev. Paul B. Porter officiating. Wallace Menzie, accompanied by Mrs. C. L. Whitney, sang "The Home of the Soul" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." The pall bearers were Joe Piggott, Arthur Grosshans, George Wanek, Valentine Ummel, Merton Titman and Walter Ely. Burial was in the Aurora cemetery. The following obituary was read at the service: Mrs. Krabiel was born in Gridley, Illinois on April 18, 1875 and departed this life at the family home southeast of Aurora on January 26, 1941, at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 8 days. She came to Nebraska with her parents in March, 1893. She was united in marriage to Daniel J. Krabiel at Aurora, Nebraska on December 15, 1897. One son was born to bless their home. Mr. and Mrs. Krabiel established their home on a farm southeast of Aurora immediately after their marriage. Here they lived and worked together until the time of her passing. She was baptized and joined the United Brethren church in Aurora, on April 17, 1938. Those who morn her decease are her husband; one son, Glenn of Stockham, Nebr., one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Horn of Lincoln, Nebr.; one grandson, Ross Krabiel, of Stockham; other relatives and many loyal friends. Mrs. Krabiel was a loyal, devoted wife and a loving mother. The memories of her life will linger with her loved ones to bless and help them in the coming years.
