Description	:	Obituary Xenia Gazette April 6, 1900: We are called upon to-day to make announcement of the death of another of the old residents of this county in the person of Mrs. Matilda Baker. She passed away at her home at Byron at the ripe old age of nearly 89 years. She had been ill only about a week, suffering from pneumonia, with which, owing to her advanced years, she was unable to cope. She passed away at her home at Byron at the ripe old age of nearly 89 years. She had been ill only about a week, suffering from pneumonia, with which, owing to her advanced years, she was unable to cope. Mrs. Baker was born near Jamestown and had lived in this county her entire life. Her husband was the late. M. W. Baker, who passed away in October, 1892. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. L. E. Fichehorn, of Jamestown; Mrs. James Houston, of Yellow Springs, and Mr. W. C. M. Baker, of Kansas City, Mo. The deceased was the grandmother of Mr. O. A. Spahr, the well-known merchant of this city. Miss Lou Houston, a granddaughter, resided with the deceased and attended to her wants in her declining years. Mrs. Baker was a member of the M. E. church of Yellow Springs, and was a lady held in universal esteem by a large circle of acquaintances. The funeral will be held to-morrow morning, friends meeting at the house at 8 o'clock, standard time. The burial will be at Jamestown.
