White, 84, of 212 Rockwell Terrace, Frederick, died Friday morning, Feb. 21, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Dr. Byron D. White. Mrs. White was the organizer and first president of the Women's Auxiliary of Frederick Memorial Hospital and received several special awards recognizing her many hours of volunteer service. Born May 1, 1901, in Pittsburgh, Pa. she was a daughter of the late Alexander C. and Clara Barnard Thompson. Dr. and Mrs. White moved to Frederick in 1949, from Poolesville, where they had lived since 1935. Mrs. White was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Garden Club of Frederick and the Book Club. Surviving her are two sisters, Virginia T. Wallace, Beaver, Pa. and Margaret T. Lecky, Los Angeles, Ca.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at the Smith, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St, Frederick. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, from Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Burais D. Barrett, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Monocacy Cemetery Beallsville. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Auxiliary of Frederick Memorial Hospital, or to the Monocacy Cemetery, c/o Charles Elgin, P.O. Box l, Beallsville, Md. 20837.
