At this time also he was secretary of the Presbyterian Sunday school, a post which he held for many years. he with J. C. Gardner formed a partnership and opened the store of Gardner and Dawson, combining groceries and dry goods with drugs. This partnership dissolved and Mr. Gardner retained the groceries and dry goods and Mr. Dawson the drug stock which they operated for several year long those lines. He sold his drug stock to Will Brookley and after a while, with J. H. Johnston bought the Avery Bros. grocery store. He sold his interests there and some time afterward again entered the drug business and traded that business to E. G. King for a farm near Steele City where he moved and lived for several years. From Denver he went to California and then to Texas, where death overtook him. He was very fond of music and also a great lover and breeder of fine horses and while living here owned some fine animals. ================================================ Perry M. Dawson was born in Pennsylvania, April 15, 1859 and died at his home in Lamesa, Texas, Dec 15, 1925 aged 67 years, 8 months. Mr. Dawson united with the Presbyterian Church at Edgar, Nebraska when a young man and remained true to his profession ever since. He leave a wife, two children and one sister, Mrs. A. B. Bryan who lives at Parkville, Mo. Mr. Dawson was for many years a prominent business man of Edgar and leaves a host of friends here to mourn his departure. The old friends and neighbors united in sympathy with the bereaved wife and sister in their quiet sorrow. The burial took place in Edgar Cemetery Saturday morning immediately after the brief funeral service which was held in the Presbyterian Church, the pastor officiating. The near friends from out of town were Mrs. A. B. Byram and daughter Mrs. Ringo from Parkville, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Johnson of North Platte, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson of Fairfield and others from the nearby neighborhoods. Mrs. Byram returned to Beatrice Tuesday where she will stop for a time with another daughter, Mrs. Dr Perviance and Mrs. Ringo returned to her home in Parkville, Mo.
