Description	:	LAKE CITY: Mrs. Mattie "Dolly" Howell Lee, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27th, 2013, in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Lee was born in Mt. Clio on April 25th, 1943. She was a daughter of the late Wylie Howell and the late Lucille Howell and was the widow of the late Tillman Legrand Lee, Sr. Mrs. Lee was educated in the schools of Sumter County. Read More	LAKE CITY: Mrs. Mattie "Dolly" Howell Lee, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27th, 2013, in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Lee was born in Mt. Clio on April 25th, 1943. She was a daughter of the late Wylie Howell and the late Lucille Howell and was the widow of the late Tillman Legrand Lee, Sr. Mrs. Lee was educated in the schools of Sumter County. She worked for many years as a sales-clerk at Tomlinson's Department Store in Lake City, and worked hardest at her full-time job as a homemaker – caring for and raising her beloved family. Mrs. Lee loved her family with all of her heart and soul. Mrs. Lee was a great cook, and she loved to feed all her friends and family. Her door was always open, and the first question she asked when you walked in was, "have you eaten yet?" If not, Mrs. Lee would fill you full of her delicious homemade biscuits, crispy fried chicken, and mouth-watering chocolate cake. Mrs. Lee also loved to garden. She grew the most beautiful flowers, and enjoyed all the beautiful colors of the plants. Mrs. Lee had an amazing green thumb, and was known to be skilled enough to plant a brown twig and grow a healthy, blossoming tree. Mrs. Lee was the type of mother you could talk to about anything. You may not like her responses, but she always had an ear to listen, and would guide you without judging you or chastising you. Mrs. Lee was a dedicated Christian who lived her life according to the Lord. She read her bible every day, and prayed every night. "Dolly" was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Lee's surviving family includes her four children, Thomas T. Lee, of Andrews, Jimmy L. Lee (Shelia), of Columbia, Wylie C. Lee (Bonnie), of Olanta, and Leatha L. Godwin (Ron), of Lake City; her fourteen grandchildren; her twelve great-grandchildren; her sister, Roxanne Hess, of Illinois; her special friend, Betty Baxley, of Lake City; and her special daughter, Wendy Hyman, of Scranton. Mrs. Lee is preceded in death by her son, Tillman Legrand Lee, Jr.; her two infant boys; and her brother, Bobby Euten. The family of Mrs. Lee will have calling hours from six until eight o'clock p.m., Friday, March 29th, 2013, in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Lee will be held at two o'clock p.m., Saturday, March 30th, 2013, in the Keels Brockington Memorial Funeral Chapel of Brockington Funeral Home. Burial and committal services will follow in the funeral in the Camp Branch Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
