Description	:	Mattie Brumback Hite, 92, of Luray, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Luray. Mrs. Hite was born May 25, 1916, in Strasburg, and was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Brumback and Amanda Campbell Brumback. She was a member of Mount Carmel Primitive Baptist Church. She graduated from Normal State Teachers College, now James Madison University, and taught school in Shenandoah County. She retired from Page County Public Schools after 25 years of service. Long will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, where visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Friends may also call at the home of her niece, Nancy Lee Shifflett, 917 W. Main St. in Luray. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
