Description	:	Birth Family Mattie Himler Redding was the daughter of Charles and Catherine Himler. She and her birth family were residing in Centre, Cedar, Iowa in 1870. It appears that the family relocated to Decatur, Burt, Nebraska around 1879 to 1880. In 1885, Catherine and her children were residing in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. Charles was not enumerated with his family at that time, but 1900 finds he and Catherine residing in Glenfield, Campbell, Haven, Rose Hill, Carrington & Wyard Township Schools, Foster, North Dakota with Catherine's widowed father, identified as Joseph Garner, the only other occupant sharing their home. Do note that no originals were viewed in which the penmanship was clear as to spelling. Charles's obit; Katherine Garver Himler. Appears in the 1850 census in Clay, Decatur, Indiana with her birth family nder maiden name Garver. Death information identifies Catherine's parents as Joseph Garver and Anna Welty. 1900 census; father b PA and mother b Ohio or PA. Said to be the mother of 7 children with only 4 still living at the time of the 1900 census. Still living were Mattie, Lena, Bert, Joseph. Catherine's Father, Joseph Garner (?), b ca 1817 in Pennsylvania per 1900. Widowed at that time and residing with Catherine and Charles in ND. Surname is believed to be Garver. Per 1850 census, Catherine's birth family consists of currently known members were; Joseph (b ca 1817 in Ohio), Ann (b ca 1813 in Ohio); and siblings John (b ca 1840 in Ohio), Jacob (b ca 1853 in Indiana), Mary (b ca 1849 in Indiana).
