This announcement will carry deep sorrow to the hearts of a wide circle of admiring friends. The deceased was a daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Britt of Goldsboro and was married to Mr. Ellington about ten years ago. She was most admirable Christian woman, a consistent member of the Tabernacle Baptist church. The grief stricken husband and the four small children left motherless have the deepest sypathy in their afflicition. Announcement will be made later as to the funeral arrangements. Saturday. January 23, 1904 in the Raleigh, North Carolina, News and Observer Mrs. Edgar E. Ellington, who has long been a patient sufferer from consumption, passed away last night at her home on North Saunders street. She had been confied to her bed for three months, and bore her affliction with Christian fortitude, as became a consistet member of the Taberacle Baptist church. Mrs. Ellington was twenty-nine years old and leaves a husband and four children, the oldest, a boy of eight-years-old, and the youngest a boy of eight months. The other two are girls. Mrs. Ellington was Miss Mattie Britt, of Pine Level, Johnston county. She leaves three brothers, J. A. Britt, a lawyer of Washington, D. C.; Charlie Britt, who holds a position with the Elligton Lumber Company, of this city, and John Britt, of this city. Mrs. Elizabeth Britt, of Raleigh, is the mother of the deceased. Notice of the funeral hereafter. Sunday. January 24 in the Raleigh, North Carolina, News and Observer The funeral of Mrs. Edgar E. Ellington will take place this afternoon at three o’clock at the Tabernacle Baptist church, and the interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Messrs. George Terrell, C. B. Park, E. H. King, Web Holloway, C. P. Spruill, Bob Horton, James Parham,and Alex Beddingfield.
