Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church, 1066 Bonnette Road, Cope. The family will also receive guests following the burial at Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The family will also receive guests following the burial at Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Ms. Carrigg was born July 6, 1917, in Cope, a daughter of Lonnie Garrick and Mary Kitt Rivers Garrick. Ms. Carrigg and her husband, William Hubert Carrigg, of 51 years, were both of Cope, and moved to Charleston after the Great Depression. Together they opened and operated several grocery stores in Charleston. They opened Carrigg?s Seafood and Poultry on Spring Street in 1954. They owned and operated Carrigg?s Seafood until Mr. Carrigg?s death in 1986. Ms. Carrigg was a member of Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church and was active in several civic and community organizations. She is survived by three sons, William Hubert ?Dubb? Carrigg Jr., Wallace Oakland ?Oakey? Carrigg and his wife, Joyce, John W. ?Johnny? Carrigg and his wife, Lillie; one sister Wilma ?Pinky? Pipkins of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ms. Carrigg was preceded in death by three brothers,, Legare Garrick, Brice Garrick, both of Cope, McCoy Garrick of Orangeburg, and two sisters, Neadic Gray of Orangeburg and Delores Kilgus of Cope. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church, 2014 Becs Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29407 or Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church, 1066 Bonnette Road, Cope, SC 29038.
