Description	:	Mattie M. Botleman, daughter of Ellis R. and Martha Burwell Botleman, was born February 21, 1873, at Uniontown, O. She passed away at her home in Fairmont, Neb., July 29, 1957, aged 84 years, 5 months and 8 days. In 1882 the Botleman family moved from Ohio to a farm near Afton, Ia. She was married to Lemuel Brown, April 24, 1895, at Afton and their first home was in Lenox, Ia. They resided in Iowa until June, 1905, when they came to Fairmont, Neb., where they entered business. She was married to Lemuel Brown, April 24, 1895, at Afton and their first home was in Lenox, Ia. They resided in Iowa until June, 1905, when they came to Fairmont, Neb., where they entered business. Mr. Brown died June 21, 1949. He operated a grocery here many years and was active in civic affairs. To this union four sons were born, Lionel B., C.Carroll, Variel E. and Kenneth W. Dr. Lionel B. Brown died at Stratton, Neb., June 21, 1953. Surviving are Dr. C.C. Brown and Variel E. Brown of Wichita, Kas., and Dr. Kenneth W. Brown of Clarksburg, W. Va., Seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one niece, Miss Florence Botleman of Wichita, Kas. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Federated Church and was a teacher in the Sunday school for many years. She was an active member of the Woman's Auxiliary until failing health curtailed her activities. She was a member of P.E.O. and also the B.B. Club. funeral services were held at the Fairmont Federated Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 1. Rev. William Richards, a former pastor, officiated. Mrs. Roland Hall and Miss Margaret Aldrich sang, accompanied by Mrs. Homer Farrar. Pallbearers were Charles Tous, George White, Willard Goodrich, W.R. Dorrance, William Boren and Louis Real. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery. The Nebraska Signal August 8th, 1957 page 4. Lot Owner: Fred Brown.
