LALONE HERE WEDNESDAY Burial Made In Dunlap Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Dunlap Wednesday, January 6, at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Maud Lalone. Mrs. Lalone died in Milford, January 4, at the age of 75 Years, 11 months, and 9 days. Rev. Arthur A. Hamann, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated at the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. Arthur A. Hamann and Mrs. Edgar Rannells, Jr., accompanied by Mrs. James Cotton at the organ. Pallbearers, all members of the Odd Fellow lodge of Dunlap, were Wade Manchester, Clarence Talcott, Howard Culver, Ira Rees, Ralph Davis and Ralph Koski. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Barrett Funeral Home. Maud Holliday, daughter of John and Ida Holliday, was born in 1884 at Miltonville, Kansas. When still a young child, she moved with her parents to Dow City and grew to womanhood in that vicinity. In 1900, she married William Lalone. Three children were born to this union: Ernest, Harvey and Louise. Most of these years the family lived on farms in the vicinity of Dunlap. Mrs. Lalone took an active part in the work of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah lodge. Mrs. Lalone and her husband left Dunlap in 1952 and went to live with their daughter, Mrs. Cecil Young, at Milford. Her husband died that same year. In 1956 she suffered a series of strokes from which she never recovered. During the last four years of her life she was bedfast and she was cared for at the home of Mrs. Ed Gacke and by her daughter, Mrs. Louise Young. She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest, in 1946, and husband, William, in 1952. She is survived by her son, Harvey, and wife of Rose Creek, Minnesota; her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Young of Milford; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Agnes, of Cedar Falls; two brothers, William of California, and Burrell of Harlan; and many other relatives and friends.
