JESS SENNETT DEAD Mrs. Jess Sennett died at the family home in this city, Sunday, December 8th, influenza, followed by pneumonia, being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held at the Livingston Undertaking parlors Tuesday, conducted by Rev. H. A. Pearce of the Christian Church and interment was at Walnut Hill. One very distressing feature of the death of this woman, was the fact that her husband and children were all afflicted with the same disease that caused her death and were unable to attend the funeral and burial service. Deceased was a little more than 36 years of age, and leaves a husband and seven children the eldest being about fourteen years old and the youngest a babe of some four months. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Priddy of Colorado, and former citizens of Kingman. Truly the bereaved family are entitled to a full measure of sympathy and assistance from the people of this community, in their great affliction. ____ The Kingman Journal Kingman, KS Friday, December 13, 1918 Page 1, Columns 3 & 4 MOTHER LEAVES SEVEN LITTLE CHILDREN Mrs. Jesse Sinnett died at the family home in the Fourth Ward Sunday after a short siege of influenza and its complications. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. H. A. Pearce of the Christian church. Deceased, whose maiden name was Maude May Priddy, a daughter of Charles Priddy, was aged only a little over 32 years. She was born here June 3, 1886, and spent her entire life in this community. Seven little children survive her—Blanche Elizabeth aged 13, Opal Harriet aged 10, Jessie Benjaline aged 8, Ora Lee aged 6, Geraldine Jeanette aged 4, Lincoln Charles aged 2, and baby Glen Franklin, aged 3 months. Besides these and her husband, she is survived by her parents and grandparents, and five brothers. The death of this young mother is among the most distressing that have come during the current season of epidemic, as it takes one who was most direly needed by a family of little ones in very humble circumstances, and leave a hard-working man with seven motherless children to care for. Mrs. Sinnett’s life was a life of industry and self-sacrifice, one whose going cannot but be missed by all who knew her as well as by all who needed her so much.
