Cordrey, Locust Terrace. Mrs. Davenport had recently been a patient in Peninsula General Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Sampson Ayres and Sarah Collins Wimbrow of Wicomico County and wife of the late Ernest Warren Davenport of Washington, D.C. and New York. Cordrey, Locust Terrace. Mrs. Davenport had recently been a patient in Peninsula General Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Sampson Ayres and Sarah Collins Wimbrow of Wicomico County and wife of the late Ernest Warren Davenport of Washington, D.C. and New York. Mrs. Davenport was listed in "Who's Who of American Women" in 1964-65. From 1940-49 she served as a Gray Lady at the Walter Reed Hospital Medical Center. While in Washington she also held memberships in the Washington Flower Club and the Woman's National Democratic Club. She was of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York, Being an accredited flower show judge. Other club affiliations included Colonial Dames of America; First Families of Virginia; Daughters of the Colonial Wars; Maryland Historical Society; Wicomico Garden Club, the Senior Board of Peninsula General Hospital and the Auxiliary of the John B. Parsons Home. She was a past regent of the Wicomico County Samuel Chase Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving in addition to her sister are two brothers, Oliver V. and David H. Wimbrow. both of Salisbury; and five nephews. Funeral services will he held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Holloway Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank A. Baker, pastor of the Riverside Methodist Church, will of officiate. Interment will be in the family cemetery at Home Acres Farm. The family suggests that as a tribute to the memory of the deceased, that contributions may be made to the Heart Association of the Lower Eastern Shore.
