Maude Palmer was born in Monroe county May 16, 1887 and when about 7 years of age removed with her parents to Eddyville, where she since resided. About a week ago she contracted a sever cold and despite the efforts of the physicians she grew worse, until Wednesday when death cut short her bright and promising life. That death loves a shining mark is exemplified in her demise. She possessed an unusually bright intellect, sunny disposition and a modest and quiet demeanor, that made her the lovable companion of her school mates, the pride of her family and an object of esteem and admiration of the entire community.
