Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, December 13, 1990; pg. 4 Maude Frances Grossman, daughter of John Lippincott and Sarah (Parker) Lippincott, was born February 28, 1893, in Coles County, Illinois. She joined the United Brethren Church in Casey, Illinois, at the age of 16. She was married to Phillip Augustus Grossman of Edgar, Nebraska, on April 18, 1918. Two children were born to this union, Raymond and Ona. She attended the United Brethren Church in Angus while living on a farm near there. After moving to Nelson, she attended the First Christian Church where she was very active, holding various offices through the years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of which she was president for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phillip on August 10, 1965; seven brothers and five sisters. Survivors include a son Raymond and his wife Myrtle of Missoula, Missouri (NOTE: should read Montana); a daughter, Ona Semke and her husband Elton of Papillion, Nebraska; a sister, Esther Roney of Decatur, Illinois; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, December 10, 1990, at 2 p.m. from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska, with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided by soloist Ward Chapman singing selections of "How Great Thou Art" and "It Is No Secret" with Myrtle Worley as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Earl Adamson, Ward Adamson, Gene Holsteen, Dale Adamson, Bud Ferebee and Walster Williams. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements.
