Born in Caswell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Milton and Larlie May Taylor Jones. She was the widow of William Everette Ted McCann. Mrs. McCann was retired from the Vance County School System, having served as Cafeteria Manager at many of the elementary schools, but her heart always remained at Dabney Elementary. Read More	Maude Jones McCann, 96, of 100 Dabney Depot Lane, Henderson, NC died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at a local nursing home. Born in Caswell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Milton and Larlie May Taylor Jones. She was the widow of William Everette Ted McCann. Mrs. McCann was retired from the Vance County School System, having served as Cafeteria Manager at many of the elementary schools, but her heart always remained at Dabney Elementary. She also retired from Heinz (Perfect Packed Pickles) where she worked until the business relocated. She was a member of Harris Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Glenn Stallsmith and Rev. Alan Felton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are a daughter, Jo Ann Wilder (Frank) of Henderson; two sons, William E.Billy McCann (Diana) of Henderson, and Dr. Marvin B. McCann (Phoebe) of Apex, NC; a sister Larlie Mae Knight of Lexington, NC; ten grandchildren, Joy Ellis, Kim Morris (Billy), Ray Wilder (Christy) , Steven McCann, Mitzi Burchinal (Chad), Caroline Cross (Allison), Phoebe Remington (Todd), Leslie Gotkin (Evan), William McCann (Chelsey) and Leah McCann; fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Doris Reavis and Gordon and Dale Griffin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Kathy McCann and a grandson, Adam Lee McCann. The family will receive friends Monday, from 7:00to 8:30 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Virginia Owens, P.O. Box 1473, Henderson, NC 27536. The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their special care during her stay. Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.
