Description	:	From The Wolbach Messenger, October 3, 1974, transcribed by Linda Berney: Maude Mathilda Johnson was born July 25, 1895 at Clay County, Nebraska, the daughter of Claus P. and Christina Mathilda Lundberg Burke. She departed from this life on September 22, 1974 at St. Paul, Nebraska at the age of 79 years. In 1903 at the age of seven, Maude moved with her parents to a farm near Greeley, Nebraska. Read More	From The Wolbach Messenger, October 3, 1974, transcribed by Linda Berney: Maude Mathilda Johnson was born July 25, 1895 at Clay County, Nebraska, the daughter of Claus P. and Christina Mathilda Lundberg Burke. She departed from this life on September 22, 1974 at St. Paul, Nebraska at the age of 79 years. In 1903 at the age of seven, Maude moved with her parents to a farm near Greeley, Nebraska. Here she received her education and grew to womanhood. On March 14, 1917, Maude was united in marriage to Dave A. Johnson at Greeley, Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm in Greeley County until 1936 when they moved to a farm near Dannebrog. In 1943 the couple left the farm to move to Dannebrog where they operated a grocery store. After four years they turned their store over to their one son, Ray Johnson. The couple continued to make their home in Dannebrog and in 1972 Dave passed away. Maude remained living in Dannebrog until February of 1974 when she entered Abel's Nursing Home where she spent the rest of her life. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Appel of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three sons, Ray and Clayton Johnson, both of Dannebrog and Dale Johnson of St. Paul; one brother August Burke of Fullerton; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Elmer Burke and an infant brother.
