Description	:	Mrs. Ray Walters of Conrad, Iowa, who for many years lived in Hawarden, died afternoon Monday in a hospital in Marshalltown. While Mrs. Walters had not been in good health for some time she was able to look after her duties until last Friday morning when she was taken to the hospital. Maud Youngkin, who was born April 11, 1895, grew up in Hawarden and was graduated from the local high sohool. For a number of years she worked im the Hawarden telephone office. After she married Ray Walters she moved onto a farm north of Hawarden, but three years, ago she moved to Conrad, Iowa. While at Conrad she was in charge of operating the telephone exchange there and remained on duty until last Friday. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Lawrence of Toledo, Iowa, and Roger, who is in Fitzsimmons hospital at Denver, Colo.; a daughter Martha at home; her mother, Mrs. F. M. Amos of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Stephenson and Mrs. Albert Rasmussen of Sioux City, and one brother, C. T. Youngkin of Hawarden. Roger, the son, was injured in the Belgium bulge during the war and has been confined to Fitzsimmons hospital at Denver but was able to go to Marshalltown before his mother passed away.
