She was born May 12, 1912 in Rison, a daughter of the late William G. and Saline Shelton Rhodes. She attended Mullis Schools at the "Y" Community. On February 2, 1929 she married Hubbard Wilson. Read More	Maudie Rhodes Wilson (May 12, 1912 - January 5, 2004) Maudie Rhodes Wilson 91, of the "Y" Community near Rison died Monday January 5, 2004 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born May 12, 1912 in Rison, a daughter of the late William G. and Saline Shelton Rhodes. She attended Mullis Schools at the "Y" Community. On February 2, 1929 she married Hubbard Wilson. Mrs. Wilson was very active and involved to her community all her life. She was a longtime member of the Rison Church of Christ. In 1952 she was a charter member of the Rural Community Improvement Organization. Since 1935, Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Cleveland County Extension Homemakers Club. She served as a 4H leader for her community, Cleveland County and the State of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 20, 1954; one son, Thomas Paul Wilson; four brothers, Amos Rhodes, Boyd Rhodes, Tollie Rhodes; two sisters, Della Rhodes and Pearlie Wilson. She is survived by three sons and daughter in laws, Grady and Betty Wilson, Jewel and Joyce Wilson, Frank and Deloris Wilson, all of the "Y" Community; one sister, Gertrude Koon of Rison; eight grandchildren and spouses, James and Karla Wilson, Ed and Leslie Wilson, Jeff and Lynn Wilson, Carol and John Harris, Brad and Stephanie Wilson, Harrell and Holly Wilson, Melanie and Alex Tilley, Jeremy and Rachel Wilson; fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday January 8, 2004 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Mr. Lanis Lindsay and Mr. A. J. Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday January 7, 2004 at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family requests memorials be made to the "Y" Community Building Fund, 8350 Highway 35 North, Rison, Ark 71665 or the Wilson Cemetery Association, 7870 Highway 35 North, Rison, Ar 71665.
