Description	:	Maurice Clare, 16, Dies After Short Illness Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Maurice Clare, 16 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Clare, six miles west of Winnetoon, who died Sunday morning at home following an illness of only a few days. The Rev. J.R. Rayborne officiated at the services, which were held at the Creighton Methodist church. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery. The pallbearers were all schoolmates of Maurice; Frank Reubicek, Bruce Boelter, John Vondracek, Marlin Tusha, Bernard Novacek and Ronald Cook. Maurice had become ill earlier in the week, preceding his death, but his condition did not appear serious until Sunday morning. Even then, when a physician was summoned, he did not appear to be in a serious condition. But he suddenly became worse and passed away a few minutes after the physician arrived for the second time. Maurice LeRoy Clare was born July 23, 1930 on a farm north of Winnetoon. At the age of one year, he moved to Stuart with his parents. After residing there seven years, the family returned to Knox county and have lived in the Verdigre and Winnetoon vicinity ever since. He was baptized in the Verdigre Methodist church. Maurice attended Verdigre public schools four years and would have graduated with his senior class in the spring of 1947. Surviving are his parents; one brother, Ralph; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clare and Mr. and Mrs. James Hildreth and his great grandfather, Ralph C. Clare.
