Description	:	Maurice L. “Morrie” Woolven, age 63, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. The celebrant will be Fr. Dan Smith. Music will be provided by the I.C. Funeral Choir accompanied by Paul Moneke. The family is requested to meet at the church on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service. Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Scripture Wake service. Visitation will resume prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at the Watertown Public Opinion. Active pallbearers will be: Mark Roby, Dan Sumner, Scott Birney, Donny Johnson and Dennis Korbel from the Public Opinion and Joe Mack. Morrie was born on July 26, 1953, at Watertown, SD, to Elmer and Vera (Rueschenberg) Woolven. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1971 and started working as a paper carrier for the Watertown Public Opinion. Morrie continued to work there his whole adult life moving from the mail room to work as a press operator, where he was presently working. He was in his 46th year of employment with the Public Opinion. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Morrie enjoyed driving his ’57 Chevy, throwing darts, riding motorcycle and watching soap operas. He loved spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed times with his nieces and nephews. Morrie is survived by three sisters: Janeece Loiseau, Michele (Roger) Mack and Colleen Woolven (Mike Weber) all of Watertown; one niece, Tammy Bauman (Kevin Madlo), of Watertown; and one nephew, Joe Mack, and his fiancé, Kristinn Eckstien, of Watertown.
