Description	:	Maurice (Morris) Jundt, 90 of Sioux Falls, formerly of Leola, died September 10, 2021. He was born January 7, 1931 on the family farm in Dewey Township, Mc Pherson County, SD to Emma (Brandner) and Henry J. Jundt. He completed grade school at Dewey Township country school. Morris was drafted into the Army on May 7, 1952 and served in the Korean War with the 151st Combat Engineers from December 1952 to March 30, 1954 and was honorably discharged. He was stationed in North Korea for nine months and was awarded the Korean Service Medal... Read More	Maurice (Morris) Jundt, 90 of Sioux Falls, formerly of Leola, died September 10, 2021. He was born January 7, 1931 on the family farm in Dewey Township, Mc Pherson County, SD to Emma (Brandner) and Henry J. Jundt. He completed grade school at Dewey Township country school. Morris was drafted into the Army on May 7, 1952 and served in the Korean War with the 151st Combat Engineers from December 1952 to March 30, 1954 and was honorably discharged. He was stationed in North Korea for nine months and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and 50th Anniversary Korean War Service Medal. He married Janice Opp on September 18, 1955 at Gluckstahl Reformed Church in Mc Pherson County. He remained on his family cattle ranch and birthplace near Leola for 48 years. He served on the Board of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leola, Lifetime Member of the American Legion and D.A.V. On September 19, 1981 they moved to Sioux Falls where he was self-employed as a handyman, did woodworking, lawn mowing, and snow blowing. He also worked for Campbell Supply and Mills Distributing. Survivors include his wife, Janice; Children: Terry (Rachel) Jundt, Cresbard; Marcie Bent, Sioux Falls; Cindy (Larry) Jung, Aberdeen; and Dr. Kim (Lora) Jundt, Sioux Falls; Grandchildren: Melissa (Faustino) Maravel, Sioux Falls; Tyrell Jundt, Aberdeen; Jena (Shane) Hovey, Brandon; Jessie Bent, Chandler, AZ; Justin (Karen) Jung, Aberdeen; Daniel ( Jen) Jung, Tea; Lucas (Kathryn) Jung, Lenexa, KS; Amanda (Ryan) Janish, Aurora, IL; Ryan (Alex) Jundt, Inver Grove Heights, MN. Great grandchildren: Evelyn Maravel, Brayden Gylling, Jaylen Gylling, Jordan Jung, Morgan Jung, Jameson Jung, and Eleanor Janish. Sister: Lorene Hauck, Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Eli, his parents, sister and 2 brothers. Visitation will be September 14, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 at the church. Memorial Service will be September 15, 2021 at 2:30 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 5500 West 26th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57106. Burial will be at South Dakota Veterans Cemetery on September 15, 2021 at 1:00. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the 151st Combat Engineers Company A. - Chapel Hill Funeral Home
