Maurine Mae Steineke, daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Schliemann) Steineke, was born July 13, 1923 in Hartford, SD. She grew up and received her education there. Maurine was united in marriage with Gerald Gibson on September 12, 1942 in Dakota City, NE. The couple made their home and raised their family in Sioux Falls, SD. Maurine was a long-time member of East Side Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling and traveling. Above all, Maurine cherished her family and the times she spent with them. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Gerald; four children, Gary Gibson and his wife, Angie, Sioux Falls, SD, Jerry Gibson and his wife, Sharon, Sioux Falls, SD, Sandi Larson and her husband, Len, Sioux Falls, SD, Vicki Gibson and Mike Garry, Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ruth Iversen, Murdo, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Gertrude; a brother, Marvin Steineke; and two sisters, Agnes Nelson and Janet Johnson.
