Max was married to Mary Elizabeth Dudek on December 12, 1945 in Springville, Iowa. She is buried in this cemetery. They were parents of Jane, Mark, Wendy. ~0bit~Max A. Ramsey, 73, of Talent, Oregon, formerly of Springville, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 13, 1995, in his home. Services were held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 19, at Springville United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Marty Schuhmacher. Burial was in the Springville Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Karen; a son, Mark Ramsey of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Jane McShane and Wendy Gasper, both of Springville; two step-sons, Jon Pontius of Marengo and David Pontius of Tucson, Arizona; and a step-daughters, Pam Pontius of Vinton. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Lisa McShane, Suzanne and Teresa Ramsey, Mitch and Jeff Teresa Ramsey, Gasper, John and Kirsten Pontius, Joey Alley and Ashley Pontius. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brett McShane. Born the son of Harold and Myrtle Anderson Ramsey on November 13, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, he married Mary Dudek on December 12, 1945, in Springville. She died September 17, 1973. He later married Karen Pontius on December 23, 1977. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1947. Max retired from Iowa Electric in 1977 and later worked for Purolator Courier in Cedar Rapids. After moving to Talent six years ago, he worked for Olympic Security at the Jackson County Airport. He was a life member of the Springville Masonic Lodge No. 139, AF & AM and a member of Springville United Methodist Church. For many years, he was a Boy Scout Master of Troup 57 in Springville, and was an Eagle Scout and achieved the Order of the Arrow. Max was a positive, fun loving, generous man who truly knew the meaning of unconditional love. Thanks Max, it was a wonderful life.
