Wortman, 74, Marion, former Anamosa resident, died Sunday, Jan. 26, unexpectedly, at Anamosa Community hospital. Wortman and Nannie Maxedon Wortman, Atlantic, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State in animal Husbandry. He was married Jan. 31, 1917, to Blanche Worthy, at Minneapolis, Minn. He came to Anamosa in 1927 as County agent. He was active in Farm Bureau work and had served on the school board and the Jones county Fair board. Survivors include his wife, Blanche; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Starkweather, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Max G., Cedar Rapids; and David, Council Bluffs; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Banks, Walnut Creek, Calif.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
