Description	:	A native of Wells County, Max C. Holloway, 84, died at 10 pm Saturday, November 2, at his Columbia City residence at Oak Pointe Living Center. Mr. Holloway was employed for 12 years at J. I. Case Company and then taught science and biology for 34 years in the Whitko School Corporation in South Whitley. He served with the U.S. Army’s 32nd Division Artillery in the South Pacific during World War II. Read More	A native of Wells County, Max C. Holloway, 84, died at 10 pm Saturday, November 2, at his Columbia City residence at Oak Pointe Living Center. Mr. Holloway was employed for 12 years at J. He served with the U.S. Army’s 32nd Division Artillery in the South Pacific during World War II. Born in Keystone June 11, 1918 to Lee and Jennie Kirkwood Holloway, he attended Petroleum High School, graduating with the class of 1936, and graduated from Purdue University in 1940 and Ball State University in 1966. He moved in 1950 to Columbia City. He was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church, past commander of American Legion Post 96 at Columbia City, and grand marshall for the Old Settler’s Day American Legion Parade several years ago. He also was a member of the Indiana Historical Society, lifetime member of the Purdue Alumni Association, the VFW Post 2919 in South Whitley, Fort Wayne York Rite, Fort Wayne Masonic Lodge 19, Fort Wayne Crytic Masons 4 and the Fort Wayne Commandery 4, Knights Templar and Bluffton Masonic Lodge 145. Surviving are his wife, Mary V.; a son, Vance C. of Mishawaka; a daughter, Mrs. J. Michael (Marcia) Holloway of Lafayette; and two granddaughters. Five brothers are deceased. Services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at the DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City with Pastor Jack Scott officiating and American Legion Post 98 conducting military rites. Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday for one hour prior to services. A committal service and interment will be at 3 pm Wednesday at the Stahl Cemetery in Wells County.
