Max is survived by his children Elizabeth (Dean) Truman, Daniel (Pam), Robert, Timothy (Carol), Kathleen (Monte) Kindt, and Randy (Maria) Olsen, 39 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Alice Mitchell and Mary Heggie. Max was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette, his son, Monte McEvitt, grandson, David Monte Kindt, his parents, George and Alice, 10 brothers and 10 sisters. Max was born on August 5, 1928 in Raymond. He married Jeanette Robinson in 1948 and together they raised 7 children. Max worked for Superior Propane for 20 years. He spent 15 years selling vehicles. Max enjoyed all kinds of sports, hockey, basketball and baseball and still playing softball at age 63. He kept score for the Comets basketball team for over 25 years, served on a number of recreation committees and was honored to be named to the Raymond Sports Hall of Fame, as well as being recognized provincially for his volunteer efforts. He helped organize Raymond Little League baseball and was honored to have a ball diamond bear his name. Some of his greatest joy was coaching his sons and the neighborhood boys of the Raymond 3rd Ward of the LDS Church. Max also had a deep love for his family members who preceded him. He spent many long and enjoyable hours working on the cemetery board and was instrumental in the veteran's memorial on Temple Hill. Music was also an important part of his life...many songs were taught to his children wile riding in the propane truck from Irish ditties to westerns to LDS hymns. Sundays would always find him writing in his journal with a CD of wonderful music playing in the background. Max had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He served faithfully in many LDS church callings and was quick to help those in need. He instilled these values in his children. In his retirement years, Max enjoyed working in his yard, raising a large garden and doing service projects with Bert Hall and Dick Kinsey. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Knight Street Chapel in Raymond on Saturday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
