Read More	AMHC US NAVY VIETNAM Obituary Max 'Ted' Brinkley SALISBURY - Mr. Max Terry "Ted" Brinkley, 74, of Salisbury, passed away April 19, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Mr. Brinkley was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Spencer, a son of the late O.J. Brinkley, Sr. and Laura Edwards Brinkley. He graduated from San Diego High School and was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. Mr. Brinkley also retired from BellSouth in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, head of the trustees and president of the United Methodist Men. He was also active in all phases of the church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sandy Brinkley, whom he married in 1975; two sons, Christopher Brinkley and wife Denise, Timothy Brinkley and wife Marian of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Teanne Wolfe of San Diego, Calif.; and one grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, O.J. Brinkley, Jr., Edward Brinkley, Richard Brinkley, Bill Brinkley, Aleene Holshouser, Viva Brinkley and Nancy Bradshaw. Service: The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Paul Burke, pastor, and Rev. Jim Brookshire with burial at the National Cemetery behind the VA Medical Center. Military graveside rites will be conducted by U.S. Navy. Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 846 Faith Road, Salisbury, NC 28146. Powles Funeral Home is serving the Brinkley family.
