Max William DeVault, son of Harvey and Zerelda (Geisler) DeVault, was born October 29, 1940, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, due to COVID-19 complications at the Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa Iowa, at the age of 80. Max grew up on a farm outside Colo, Iowa with his brother, Doug. He was active in showing livestock at the county and state fair. In 1960, he graduated from Colo High School. After high school, he moved to Des Moines where he lived for several years. Because of health concerns, Max has lived at care facilities for the last fourteen years, residing at Crestridge Care Center for the last ten. Max enjoyed reading books, learning new things, and listening to music to pass the time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Zerelda; and brother, Doug DeVault. He is survived by his niece, Deb and husband, Bill; and other great nieces and nephews.
