Description	:	Maxie Gambrell Cromer, of Anderson, widow of Wade Gilmer Cromer, Sr., died Friday, April 27, 2007 at her residence. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Lillian Brooks Gambrell. She was a retired third grade teacher in Anderson School District Five with 30 years service. She was the oldest member of St. John's United Methodist Church where, until recently, she was an active member of the Mary O. Holler Sunday School Class, Circle # 2, and the Happy Group. Read More	Maxie Gambrell Cromer, of Anderson, widow of Wade Gilmer Cromer, Sr., died Friday, April 27, 2007 at her residence. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Lillian Brooks Gambrell. She was a retired third grade teacher in Anderson School District Five with 30 years service. She is survived by two sons, Wade Gilmer Cromer, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Anderson, and Max Gambrell Cromer, Sr. and his wife, Sandi of Soddy Daisy, TN; a daughter, Joanne Calhoun and her husband, Henry of Spartanburg; nine grandchildren, Kristin Elrod, Lauren Cromer, Courtney Grimes, Max Cromer, Jr., Susan Griffith, Rachel Cromer, Tami Massey, Rafe Calhoun, and Jason Calhoun; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Dot Gunnin of Colorado, and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Hester Wollstein of Pendleton. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, June Cromer, four brothers and five sisters. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church conducted by Dr. William R. Childs. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. A family committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park prior to the service. The family is at the residence.
