Description	:	JEFFERSON, S.D. -- Maxine A. Blanchard, 81, of Chico, Calif., formerly of Jefferson, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel in Sioux City. Maxine was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Elk Point, S.D., to Howard Limoges and Elva (Summey) Limoges. She attended school in Elk Point. She married Roger Blanchard. She was a 43-year resident of California after moving from Jefferson in 1962 with her husband and their five children. She lived in Mountain View, Calif., for 13 years, Yuba City, Calif., for 25 years and had spent the last five years in Chico. She was a 12-year employee with the Rideout Hospital dietary department, receiving employee of the month and year designations. She and her cooking were loved by all of the co-workers. In her retirement, she enjoyed many activities. She loved to find collectibles, cook delicious family meals, make snacks and sweets, gardening, taking care of the four-plex and traveling. All of those who met her loved her sense of humor, quick wit and to-the-point attitude. She is survived by her children, Bruce Blanchard and his wife, Karen of Chico, Calif., Scott Blanchard and his wife, Nancy of Palo Alto, Calif., Paul Blanchard of Chico, Steven Blanchard of Fresno, Calif., Christopher Blanchard of Yuba City, Calf., and Pam Blas of Imperial Beach, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Stephanie, Kyle, RaCheal, Chris, Matt, James, Nicole and Brandon.
