Description	:	Maxine Alice Oswald was born on October 27, 1922, on a farm near Seward, Nebraska to Clarence and Alice (Roth) Schweitzer, the youngest of two children and passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her home in Milford at the age of 88 years 4 months and 25 days. Read More	Maxine Alice Oswald was born on October 27, 1922, on a farm near Seward, Nebraska to Clarence and Alice (Roth) Schweitzer, the youngest of two children and passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her home in Milford at the age of 88 years 4 months and 25 days. As a young girl, Maxine attended a country school northeast of Beaver Crossing and later Ruby District School. She later attended Milford Public Schools. Maxine accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at Milford Mennonite Church and later transferred her membership to the West Fairview Mennonite Church where she was a faithful member and supporter until her death. On August 16, 1942, she was united in marriage to Dale Oswald in Seward and to this union a son, Gale, and three daughters, Marilyn, Patricia and Amy were born. Together they made their home in Seward before moving to farms in the Milford and Beaver Crossing area. She was a life-long working companion to Dale, both on the farm and as a pastor's wife for more than 50 years. Maxine was an active member of the church, teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She was unselfish and had a very giving personality in her friendships with others. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed sharing her time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her main desires was that her family will all meet her in heaven someday. Maxine loved to cook and enjoyed reading and crocheting. Maxine is survived by her husband, Dale, Milford; son and daughter-in-law, Gale and Janice Oswald, Milford; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Eugene Reil, Milford, Amy and Frank Hamtak, Springfield, MO; 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dean and Charlotte Oswald, Lincoln, Ronald and Leah Oswald, Milford; Dorothy and Charles Eberspacher, Lincoln, and Imogene Roth, Phoenix, AZ; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patricia Ann, a brother, Burdette Schweitzer, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William Oswald, Marjorie and Don Wolfe, Irene Oswald.
