Description	:	Maxine B. Shepherd, 80, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Eldora, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. Services will be held Monday, Sept. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Eldora, with burial in Eastlawn Memory Garden, Eldora. Pastor Corey Larson will officiate. The family will be present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time and after the service. Maxine was born April 1, 1921, in Elkader, to Carl and Sophia Larson Reinecke. She graduated from Elkader High School and Elkader Junior College. On Aug. 24, 1943, she married A. E. "Shep" Shepherd at Villa Park, Ill. They made their home in Waterloo, later moving to Eldora where she made her home until moving to Lincoln this year. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eldora. Her hobbies were sewing, knitting and counted cross stitch. She is survived by a daughter, Lynda White and her husband, Dick, of Waverly, Neb.; a son, Richard C. Shepherd and wife, Jill, of Trophy Club, Texas; a sister, Judy Torney and husband, Jim, of Springfield, Vt.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1999; and a sister, Berneice. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
