Nelson will officiate the service with interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton. Maxiene Fatih passed away on a hot day, June 25, 2005 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Maxiene Elaine Faith started her life journey at home on a wintery day, March 18, 1917 in Amelia, Nebraska. She was the first child of Clarence and Violet (Ingles) Pierce. Her childhood was spent in the Amelia/Northeast, NE area. The final school days were spent at the Faith Home School in Mitchell, SD. On August 27, 1934 with a ring on her finger and love in her heart, Maxiene decided to leave one Faith home and make another. She married Levi A. Faith in the Nazarene Church in Huron, SD. To this union, four children were born. The marriage spanned 6 decades and lasted more than 56 years until Levi's death in 1990. They farmed in the Millerboro area until 1966, when they moved to Creighton. Maxiene lived in the same house from 1966 until her death. In the summer, she especially enjoyed her rose garden and in winter her African violets. She was proud of being a good cook and preparing special food for family and friends. A special favorite of grandchildren and geat grandchildren was her famous Coconut Cream Pie. From 1965 to 1985, Maxiene came close to realizing her dream of being a nurse by working as a nurses' aide at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital. Many of the friendships and memories from those working years were replayed during her final week, when she was cared for by her "Lundberg family". After retirement, Maxiene channeled her energy into making a custom quilt for each of her children and granddaughters. She also enjoyed the membership in the Walter Larson Senior Citizen Center and numerous civic activities. Religion was an important part of her life. She was baptized in the Amelia Methodist Church, was a lifetime member of the Creighton United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women. She is survived by three daughters, Carol and husband, Dale Morrill, of Creighton, Janet and husband, Jerry Loney, of Hastings, Brenda and husband, Thomas Evans, of Omaha and one son, Dennis Dale Faith and his wife, Connie, of Danville, IL. She has 14 grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Other survivors include 3 half sisters, Jeanne Nellis Speed of Temple, TX; Grace Cook of Lewiston, ID and Lavonne Hines of Wessington Springs, SD and one half brother, David Doll. Her five sisters-in-law, Bertha Mlady of Bloomfield, Amy Knuth of Rowland Heights, CA. Lily Faith of Lyman, NE, Norma Faith of Morrill, NE and Lottie Faith of Creighton are additional close family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Levi; one brother, Vernon Pierce; a half brother, Meredith Doll and a half sister, Orpha Doll.
