Description	:	Obituary Maxine Eleanor (Lenz) Troth, age 93, passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday morning, October 31, 2020. She was born on April 3, 1927 in Squirrel, Idaho, the daughter of Fred J. and Selma (Griffel) Lenz. Read More	Obituary Maxine Eleanor (Lenz) Troth, age 93, passed peacefully into eternity on Saturday morning, October 31, 2020. She was born on April 3, 1927 in Squirrel, Idaho, the daughter of Fred J. and Selma (Griffel) Lenz. With two older sisters and a younger brother, she grew up on the family farm in the shadow of the Grand Teton Mountains. Maxine attended a one-room country school near her home in Squirrel until she started the 5th grade, at which time she and an older sister began living in a boarding house in Ashton so they could attend school there. Maxine graduated from Ashton High School in 1945. Maxine was united in marriage to Garold Troth on November 4, 1945 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and they began married life on a farm overlooking the Fall River near Ashton. In October, 1953, they moved the family, which now included four young children, to a newly purchased farm west of Lewistown and settled into the Central Montana community. Maxine’s calling in life was to be a wife and mother, and she excelled in those roles. She was the primary chauffeur for school and other activities, she planted and tended a large garden, canned fruits and vegetables, sewed and performed a multitude of other tasks that made her house a home. After Garold’s death, she continued to live on and maintain the farm for another 25 years before making the decision, on her own, to move into an apartment in town. Her faith and her church were always central to her life. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, and it was of the utmost importance to her that her family also come to know and love the Lord. She taught Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School at Zion Lutheran for many years, she served on Altar Guild, contributed to potlucks and bazaars, and especially enjoyed being a Zion Quilter until her eyesight began to fail. Along with her church activities, she was a member of the Republican Womens’ Club, WIFE, and Montana Farm Bureau. Her many years of volunteerism with the CMMC Auxiliary earned her a lifetime membership in that organization, where one of her favorite activities was helping with the monthly birthday parties for the residents of the nursing home. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Esther (Mike) Maloney of Des Moines, WA and Carol (Byron) Swanby of Lewistown; son, Richard of Missoula; grandchildren, Brian (Kelly) Maloney of Auburn, WA and Rachel (Brad) Rasor of Hayden, ID; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Wilma Aspevig of Yakima, WA; special cousin, Frances Kraemer of Norfolk, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garold (1985); son, Bill (1992); sisters, Viola and Thelma; and brother, Fred G. Lenz.The family is grateful to Central Montana Hospice and the Angels of Mercy whose assistance made it possible for Maxine to remain in her home until the time of her death. Viewing will be held at Creel Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be at Zion Lutheran Church, Wednesday, November 4th, 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lynne Ogren presiding. Dear friends, seating is limited due to the Covid-19 and social distancing guidelines will apply. As family will take up many of the available seats, we invite you to participate by viewing the service live-streamed on youtubezionlutheranchurch,Lewistown,MT Interment will follow at the Central Montana Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Central Montana Hospice, Zion Lutheran Church (designated for World Hunger Relief), Council on Aging or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home.
