Description	:	Maxine Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of Cora (Myrtle) Benson and Lyle Travis, was born January 21, 1919 in Peru, Ia. She graduated from Peru High School in 1936. On June 17, 1939, she married Trueman H. Johnson in Grant City, Missouri. They lived with Trueman's sister, Nellie and Roy Sammons, helping with the farming. They moved to Cromwell in 1947 where they owned and operated a corn shelling business, and Maxine did the truck driving, until the mid 80's. Maxine was survived by her daughter: Vicki (husband Lonnie) Cavin of Cromwell; one grandson: Jeremy (wife Courtney) Rasmussen of Mason City; one great-granddaughter: Taylor Rasmussen of Mason City; one brother: Clark (wife Marilyn) Travis of Davenport; one sister Doris Young of Winterset; one sister in-law: Lovisa Flynn of Marshalltown and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband True on January 30, 1989; two brothers: Kendall Travis and one in infancy; three sisters Lorraine Ward, Mary Huss and one in infancy.
