Description	:	Maxine Evlyn Raisch was born Aug. 7, 1937, on the family farm near Ackley to Edward and Christena Benning. Maxine attended Franklin County Osceola No. 2 Country School until the fourth grade when she transferred to Ackley Public School. After graduating from Ackley High School in 1955, Maxine went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On Nov. 25, 1956, Maxine was married to Donald Raisch. Read More	Maxine Evlyn Raisch was born Aug. 7, 1937, on the family farm near Ackley to Edward and Christena Benning. Maxine attended Franklin County Osceola No. 2 Country School until the fourth grade when she transferred to Ackley Public School. After graduating from Ackley High School in 1955, Maxine went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On Nov. 25, 1956, Maxine was married to Donald Raisch. In 1966 Maxine moved to Carroll, where she raised her five children as a single mother. In 1974 the family moved to Glidden. In 1980 Maxine moved to Des Moines, where she lived until her retirement from her job at Hancock Fabric and Crafts. At the age of 45, Maxine began attending classes at Drake University where she graduated with her degree in human services. After her retirement, Maxine moved to Grand Junction. Maxine died on Sept. 22, 2008, at Regency Park Nursing Home in Jefferson. She was 71 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents, and daughter Lynette Marie. Survivors include three sons, Norlyn Raisch (Cindy) of Lincoln, Neb., Daryl Raisch (Julie) of Zephyr Hills, Fla., and Brian Raisch of Des Moines; two daughters, Dalieth Johnston (Larry) of Grand Junction and Alanna Husar (Mike) of Grand Junction; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deloris Benning of Des Moines and Luella Benning of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a brother, LeRoy Benning (Connie) of Ackley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, with a graveside service Saturday at 2 p.m. in the St. Peter's Cemetery near Geneva. Friends may call at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Grand Junction after 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
