Friends may call Saturday August 17th at Lahey Funeral Home in Lost Nation from 10 am until 11:30 am, a graveside service will follow at the Lost Nation Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. Maxine Mildred Edleman was born on July 21, 1929 in Lost Nation daughter of Edwin L. and Lyra E. (Browne) Edleman. She was baptized and confirmed at the Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. She was a graduate of the Lost Nation School where she was the class valedictorian of the Class of 1946. She attended AIC in Davenport. On June 18th 1949, she was united in marriage with Robert J. Guidebeck at St. Mary's Church in Clinton. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1952. On May 16, 1955, Maxine married Arnold Feddersen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, he preceded her in death on October 12, 2001. Maxine had resided in Lost Nation the majority of her life, was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening, flowers and music and playing the piano. She had been employed at JC Penney in Maquoketa, and Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in DeWitt, Iowa. She was devoted to her family, dearly loved her grandchildren and provided care in later years for her parents and husband. Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Greg (Rae Young) Guidebeck, their children and families, Lisa (Tom) Gruenwald, children Halie, Ryne; Angela White, children Kiersten, Austin; Melanie (Chad) Vallejo, children Samantha, Sydney; Marcia Feddersen (Dr. Mark) Schroeder, their children Alissa, Katie; Jay (Carol Tietje) Feddersen, their children Brandon, Sean; Jan Feddersen which whom she resided since 2006 and was lovingly cared for; and a sister-in-law Konnie Edleman. Also preceding her in death was her mother on February 17, 1977, her father on February 6, 1990, a brother Allen Edleman on September 27, 2007, and a grandson Brian Guidebeck, and a great-grandson Bryce Gruenwald.
