Read More	The Osceola Sentinel, Osceola, Iowa July 10, 1958, Page 2 Obituary May, daughter of Jacob and Harriett Messman, was born on Jan. 3, 1870, in Lassen County, California, and slipped out of this life at her home in Osceola on July 3, 1958. When she was 3 years old her family decided to come to Iowa and traveled to the western terminus of the railroad by covered wagon. With the exception of two additional years spent in Adair county the rest of her life was spent in Clarke county. She was educated in the rural schools of Clarke county. She united with the Baptist church at an early age and later moved her membership to the Christian church at Osceola where she served her church as long as she was physically able. On Sept. 27, 1888 she was married to Amos Lynn. To this union were born five children namely, Harold and Roy who died in infancy, Virgil now deceased, Lela Fouche now deceased and a daughter, Audra Fisher, who resides in Osceola. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1936, two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Penick of Woodburn and Mrs. John Holt of Lucas and one granddaughter, Jennie Fouche. She leaves to mourn he passing her daughter Audra, her son-in-law, J. Louis Fisher and five grandchildren. Kenneth Lynn of Osceola, Robert Lynn of Petaluna, Calif., Donald of Osceola, Lois Hyink of Des Moines and Harry Fisher of Pusan, Korea. Also four great granddaughters and two great grandsons besides devoted nieces, nephews and friends. Her devotion to her church, her family and her neighbors was he sole life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Warren Hile at the Webster Funeral Home Sunday, July 6 at 2 o'clock. Organ music was furnished by Amy Ruth Harlan. Burial was in the Bethel Chapel cemetery.
