Description	:	Mayeda Deloris Jansen April 25, 1923 to December 20, 2001 Mayeda Jansen age 78, of rural Anamosa, died Thursday morning December 20, 2001, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday, December 22, 2001 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. She was preceded in death by her Parents and a brother Alvin Weers. Mayeda Deloris Weers was born April 25, 1923 at Scotch Grove, Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry and Tena Dirks, Weers. She received her early education in the Scotch Grove Schools and graduated from the Center Junction High School. She then continued her education at the Cedar Rapids Business College . Mayeda was employed at the Citizens Savings Bank in Anamosa. Mayeda D. Weers and Merle Jansen were married August 16, 1945 at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed near Amber, Iowa. Mayeda was a life long member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She was confirmed on May 3, 1936. She served as the church treasurer for many years, and the Anniversary Committee. She also enjoyed bowling and working with her flowers and African Violets. A memorial fund has been established.
