Description	:	Mrs. Mayme (Ollie) Farley's body was found in the stock watering tank at her farm home about ten o'clock Monday morning by Dwight Fagot, hired man of Clark Beck, tenant on the Farley farm. Read More	Mrs. Mayme (Ollie) Farley's body was found in the stock watering tank at her farm home about ten o'clock Monday morning by Dwight Fagot, hired man of Clark Beck, tenant on the Farley farm. The farm is located 4 1/2 miles northeast of Lexington. The body was partly submerged in the water in a 14 foot cement tank, about 30 inches deep. There was thin ice around the edges of the tank. The body was clad in a thin nightgown and ankle length stockings. The county sheriff and his deputy were out of town, so assistant deputy George Volk, and acting county coroner, Bernard B. Smith, and Dr. R.S. Wycoff, acting for county physician Dr. A. W. Anderson, who was absent, investigated the case and made the following report. "Footprints were found from the farm home that appeared to have been made by a bare footed person, or at least in the same type of socks Mrs. Farley had been wearing. In company with Hazel Anthony, I examined the home. There was no evidence of any fire in the range of recent origin and the stove was cold. There were no lights burning, no dirty cooking utensils or dishes. The bed was made and had not been slept in. All items of clothing were hung in the closet with the exception of the dress she is reported to have worn during the day. The dress itself was on the sewing machine in the bed room. I looked in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room and sunroom, in all logical places for any note or message and found none. Clark Beck, tenant, reported he had finished feeding the cattle around 6:00 o'clock in the evening on February 24th and observed Mrs. Farley looking out the kitchen window. Mrs. Clark Beck reported that they were ordinarily able to see a light whenever Mrs. Farley was home. That they did not notice any on the evening of February 24th. Dwight Fagot, a hired man of Clark Beck, says that he went to the Farley home about 10:00 o'clock to take care of the cattle and discovered the body in the horse's tank. I visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shepherd and Mr. Shepherd reported that Mrs. Farley had spent the day with them; that they took her to her home about 6:00 o'clock on the evening of February 24th. He said generally speaking her spirits were good and that there was no indication of any undue emotion on her part and that he would never have guessed or expected that she was grieving in any way. Dr. Wycoff examined the body and found no marks of violence. Conclusion: In my opinion, Mrs. Farley was despondent over the recent death of her husband and the death of her son which occurred a short time before the death of her husband. She apparently made no extensive plans or preparations for committing this act. It is my opinion she was overcome with grief shortly after she had prepared for bed and decided to end her life and did so all within a very short period of time. It is my further opinion that Mrs. Farley took her own life and that her death was non-felonious." Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church. Rev. L.R.
